Mint Julep
Mint Julep Recipe
The Mint Julep has been promoted as the drink of choice at Churchill Downs for the running of the Kentucky Derby since 1938.
Ingredients:
- 6 mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon simple syrup
- 3 ounces bourbon
- 1 mint sprig, to garnish
Directions:
- Muddle the mint leaves and simple syrup in a highball or Collins glass.
- Fill the glass with crushed ice, and add the bourbon.
- Garnish with the mint sprig, and serve.
