Rum Swizzle

Rum Swizzle Recipe

The first rum distillery in North America was set up on what is now Staten Island, in 1664, more than 100 years prior to the Revolutionary War.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
  • 3/4 ounce triple sec
  • 1/2 ounce lemon juice
  • 5 ounces ginger beer
  • Lemon wheel, to garnish
  • Cherry, to garnish

Directions:

  1. Shake the dark rum, triple sec and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled glass.
  3. Add the ginger beer, and gently stir.
  4. Garnish with the lemon wheel and cherry, and serve.
