Rum Swizzle Recipe
The first rum distillery in North America was set up on what is now Staten Island, in 1664, more than 100 years prior to the Revolutionary War.
- 1 1/2 ounces dark rum
- 3/4 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
- 5 ounces ginger beer
- Lemon wheel, to garnish
- Cherry, to garnish
- Shake the dark rum, triple sec and lemon juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Strain the contents of the shaker into an ice-filled glass.
- Add the ginger beer, and gently stir.
- Garnish with the lemon wheel and cherry, and serve.
