Blood and Sand Recipe

Approximately 425,000 were killed, missing or wounded in the Battle of Normandy, which began with Allied forces invading the Nazi-occupied beaches of Normandy, France. The invasion included 5,000 ships and 156,000 troops. It was the largest amphibious operation in recorded history.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 ounce Scotch
  • 3/4 ounce cherry liqueur
  • 3/4 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 3/4 ounce orange juice
  • Orange spiral, to garnish

Directions:

  1. Shake the Scotch, cherry liqueur, sweet vermouth and orange juice in a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Strain the contents of the shaker into a cocktail glass.
  3. Garnish with the orange peel spiral, and serve.
